"We love our album"

Your at-a-glance guide to Ant and Dec's fabulous second album Top Katz, straight from their own little Geordie mouths!

U KRAZY KATZ
Dec: Krazy Katz is a milestone for us because it was the first really different song we've done and had a hand in. It was our own idea and it's really close to our hearts.

PERFECT
Dec: I love this song, it's going to be our Christmas single. We wrote this song with Richie from Let Loose and the video is going to be fab as well!
Ant: We've just shot the video and we were really jet-lagged. I just blanked out in the middle of a scene and then I fell down the stairs!

STUCK ON YOU
Dec: I'm a bit disappointed that this wasn't a bigger hit. Mind you, I'd rather have a number 12 hit and have people liking you than having a Number One single like Mr Blobby and have people despising you!

U ARE THE ONE
Dec: This was the last song we recorded before we went off to Japan. We came up with the melody for the chorus "You are the one" and thought "That's dead catchy"! It's a bit of a swingbeat record.
Ant: This might be a single at some point. It was a bit of a rush to finish it though - we had to do it in a night.

LOVE AND DEVOTION
Dec: This is one of my favourite songs. Ant came up with the tune while he was playing the guitar. We started singing along to it, got a piano involved and we'd almost built a song!
Ant: We were told that we ripped George Michael off with this single, but that's a compliment!

STEPPIN' STONE
Dec: We wanted to do a cover version and spent ages thinking of one to do. Then one day we were just sitting around and put on a Monkees CD and Steppin' Stone came on. We all started singing the chorus and going really mad, screaming like rock gods and knew we had to record it.

ALWAYS MY LOVE
Dec: This is our Madness tribute track. It's the first band that Ant and I really liked when we were younger.

BY YOUR SIDE
Ant: This was on the B-side of Stuck On You and we wrote and recorded it in about five hours!

GONNA BE ALRIGHT
Dec: We turned up at the studio one night a bit wrecked and we decided to write a track. We had this idea of an astronaut in outer space looking out of the port-hole and talking to his girlfriend. He can see her bedroom light from outer space, and sings "I'm a million miles from nowhere, but I'm coming home and when I get back everything's gonna be alright."

SOMEWHERE IN THE RAIN
Dec: This was a contender for the Christmas single. It's quite romantic, but it's not a snowy song. I'm really proud of my vocals on this song, I tihnk they're the best I've ever done.

EASY RISER
Ant: I saw this ad in the newspaper for one of those chairs that go up the stairs for old people and it was called the Easy Ride and I thought it was such a good idea that I wrote the song. But it took me about two days to pluck up the courage to tell Dec 'cause I knew he'd laugh at me!
